Did you know there is a Community
Health Service Agency for Kaufman County (as well as Hunt, Fannin,
and Collin Counties)?
It is not a "free" clinic as everyone
will pay something. The amount is determined by your family
size and income. NO ONE is turned away. There is also a
pharmacy that will help with medications. You do not need an
appointment, but it is preferred. For more information contact
numbers are:
Greenville Community Health
Center
4311 Wesley Street
Greenville, Tx. 75401 - phone: 903-455-5958 (Pam Woods - Clinic
Manager)
Kaufman Community Health
Center
101 N. Houston Street
Kaufman, Tx. 75142 - phone: 972-932-7001 (Cheryl Weideman -
Clinic Manager)
There are also clinics at Ladonia, Tx.
and Farmersville, Tx.
The Community Health Service Agency,
Inc. exists to serve those with Medicare, Medicaid or no
insurance. They are a private not-for-profit clinic and will
see the uninsured on a "sliding fee scale" which is based on family
size and income. For our Medicare patients, we will waive
their deductible and if they qualify based on income may be eligible
for additional discounts off their co-pay. Medicaid patients
are required to name us as their PCP, and someone in our front
office can help them make the switch.
They also provide patient education,
social services and medications. They also have a Class D
pharmacy for items such as antibiotics; and also participate in
Share the Care with Pfizer and all other patient assistance programs
for medications for patients in need.
You can also reach the Community Health
Service Agency on line at chsa@ koyote.com or Denise Brady at dbraddy.chsa@tachc.org
Sunday is "Grandparents Day" and we
will celebrate with the residents at Windsor Care Center in a
special way!!! Please come and be on hand for our time of
worship at Windsor at 2:30pm this Sunday, September
11th!!!
There will be a miscellaneous shower
for Suzanna and Ted this Sunday in the fellowship hall from
4:00-5:00pm! They are registered at Wal-Mart, if you care to
take a look at what they might need. Otherwise, a gift card
from Wal-Mart would be the perfect gift for this new couple!
They will be leaving next Friday, so hurry up and wish them
well!!! (Ted will be leaving soon for duty in Iraq. We
wish him well!)
We'll have an "old-fashioned" American
theme for snack supper this Sunday night as we do a little
celebrating and some remembering of September 11th! Come for
hot dogs and stay for the service to follow - and don't forget
QWIRE!!! (We're already working on Christmas!)
The Jr. High UMYF will have their first
Sunday meeting at 4:00pm in the youth center in the
pavilion!!! We plan on meeting right up until snack supper
time - so COME AND JOIN US if you're in the 6th, 7th, or 8th
grade!!! (And since Windsor is this Sunday, you may just want
to come on out to the Youth Center after and hang out!)
First "Monday Sunday School" will be
September 12th at the Colonial Lodge!!! Bob Watson will be
teaching a "Sunday School" (that's why we call it "Church School" -
it can happen ANY DAY) Class at the Colonial Lodge on Monday
mornings at 10:00am! We'll also have a time for singing a
couple of hymns, especially as they relate to what Bob's lesson will
be (from 2nd Chapter of Acts)! Come on out and join us -
especially if you can't be in church on Sunday's - or if you missed
Sunday School!!! There's always "MONDAY, SUNDAY SCHOOL" -
because in any case: SUNDAY SCHOOL MAKES A
DIFFERENCE!!!
Both volleyball teams won their games
the first night of play - although team 2 had an easier time of it
(the opponent didn't show up)!!! Team 1 plays Sept. 12th at
7:45pm at 1st Christian Church and Team 2 has a bye. This is
the deadline to sign up for a team if you're interested!!!
Both rosters and fees must be paid by Sept. 12th!!! If you're
interested, see the pastor and let him know!!!
What a great group we had at our first
Fall Bible Study - 19 showed up (20 if you count Don twice)! I
am using Max Lucado's book, "In the Eye of the Storm - A Day in the
Life of Jesus" as our study for this fall. We have 11 more
sessions to go, which will take us up to just
before Thanksgiving! This is a great study, but also
offers an insight as to how Jesus handled all the different kinds of
storms that life throws at us! So come and join us each
Tuesday night in the fellowship hall from 7:00pm -
8:00pm!!!
The Children's Department will meet on
Saturday, Sept. 17th, at 8:00am to go to the Discovery Science
Building in FAIR PARK in Dallas (the Tyler exhibit is closed that
day). Bring a sack lunch with you, as we will eat at the park
there. Drinks will be provided for you! For more
information, please see or call Susie Arredondo or Lisa
Carney!
Thanks to all of you who have returned
your Ministry Survey for the Nominations Committee!!! The
committee will be meeting on Sunday, Sept. 18th, at 4:00pm in the
Education Building. If you have not returned your form, or are
in need of one, please see the pastor!
Church Conference date announced!
Our District Superintendent, the Rev. Mike Nichols, has announced
that our Church Conference (sometimes known as our
Charge Conference) will be held at 5:30pm on Sunday, October
16th. We will begin with a covered dish supper in the
fellowship hall. Anyone that has a report to give should have
it typed and ready to hand in as a record for the Church
Conference. It is at that time that we also hear the PPR
Committee's recommendation for staff salaries, the finance
committee's report for the budget for 2006, the report of the
Nominations Committee for the Church Leaders for 2006, as well as
the pastor's report, and other reports as they are needed.
This is a very important time in the life of any church as they hold
their annual Church (Charge) Conference. Please make every
effort and attempt to be on hand
