Just heard from Dewey. He had the filter installed this morning and he is doing fine. He will be a little woozy today, but tomorrow the doctor said he can do anything he wants to do! Praise the Lord. This is to help protect him when he has the other knee surgery September 2. You remember he had a blood clot when he had the other surgery.
Love,
Barbara

From Susie, 8/19/08

Chase did see the surgeon, Dr Newsome yesterday, he’s having surgery tomorrow 8-20 @2:00, daysurgery at Baylor Surgicare.

it will be a long healing process as the cyst has to heal from the inside out.

Please keep him in prayers, to heal quickly, so he can get to school and work.

Susie

From Larry, 8/18/08

Dorit did very well with her surgery today.  She's in her room now (or should be - haven't heard from Jerry exactly which room) in the Truitt Building and will be there for about three days.  The doctor said her nerve was really damaged and with all the manipulating they had to do, she'll still be sore a couple of days more - but will soon be better after that!

Dorit (and Jerry's) concern is that she will not be working now - at least for a while - and when you take away that kind of income, it leaves you a little nervous (or a LOT nervous).  So please pray for Dorit's peace of mind and that God will indeed "take care of you"!!!

Bev had her first "therapy" today on her neck - two hours!  She goes in two or three times a week for a "while". . . .  Their report was that she had a lot more  bulging disks than just the one in her neck - there were others in her neck as well as the rest of her back.  So we're trying the therapy for now...  She was told not to "look down"!  Something "theological" in that...hmmmm?????

We're looking forward to ALL WHO CAN coming tomorrow evening for the OPEN HOUSE AT THE PARSONAGE - RAIN OR SHINE!!!  It's come and go - or stay (whichever you prefer - and according to how hard the rain will be at that time)!  Time:  6:00pm - 8:30pm.  It's a fairly simple menu:  smoked turkey, ham, roll (you'll have to cut your own - Bev can't look down, remember!), slaw, baked beans, mixed fruit, and cake.  So see ya'll there!!!

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!  VOLLEYBALL BEGINS NEXT MONDAY, AUG. 25TH!!!  WATCH FOR A PLACE AND TIME FOR OUR 1ST GAME!!!  AND WE STILL NEED YOU TO SIGN UP FOR THE TEAM!!!!!

Chase Arredondo will be having surgery to take care of a bad cyst that was the result of a baseball injury last week.  It's amazing how quick something like that can come up - let's hope it will be cured and taken care of even more quickly!!!

I don't think I need to tell you all how important (at least to ME) the upcoming BACK TO SCHOOL - BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL AND CHURCH are!!!  Well, actually, I WILL TELL YOU - in six (five really - Otis gets to preach Labor Day Sunday) sermons beginning this Sunday through September 28th!!!  In addition - this Sunday will be BRING A FRIEND SUNDAY and we'll have a COVERED DISH LUNCH immediately following the morning service of worship!!!  Please plan on being a part of the life of YOUR CHURCH through Sunday School and Worship!!!

And one more time - if you have ANY picture frames (any size) you don't want - please bring them to the OPEN HOUSE on Tuesday for Jonathan's Art Show on Sept. 6th, in Palestine.  We'll let you know a specific time and place if you're interested.  THANK YOU!!!

Again, another great time of worship last evening at Seagoville!!!  Rev. Perry Crenshaw - who will be involved with a new church start in Grand Prairie, led part of our special music!  Perry - he's just really special!!!  It was my first opportunity to hear Rev. Jeff Garrett, and I was well-pleased with his message!  It was also a really great thing to be in the "connection" in such a special way as we celebrated Holy Communion together as the Dallas South Town and Country Cluster!  For all who participated, "Thank you!"

This Wednesday - ALL YOUTH - 7:00pm in the youth center!!!

This Friday - ALL YOUTH BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY - 7:00-10:00PM - BOWLING!!!!

Ya'll Take CARE!

Larry

All future meetings will take place at 4pm on Sunday afternoons of:

Jackie Winton knows a mother - which isn't anything new - but this happens to be the mother of a pretty good Christian songwriter, singer.  He will be in concert this next Thursday, Aug. 21st, at the Servant's Bookstore in Kaufman (11:30am - 2:00pm).  So if you'd like a TREAT, go and listen!!!

We don't hear from Jonathan much, and when we do, it's usually to ask for something.  So GUESS WHO CALLED last night!!!  Yep, Jonathan!  And he was asking for something, which I'll pass on to you all.  He took some of his artwork to the Palestine Museum and they liked it so much that they've scheduled him for an art show on September 6th!  BUT HE NEEDS FRAMES!!!  So if any of you have any old frames laying around that you just don't want any more, please bring them to church this Sunday or to the OPEN HOUSE AT THE PARSONAGE on Tuesday (6:00-8:30pm)!!!  He will be here for the open house and be able to take them home with him and try to make the paintings he's done fit!!!  We'll also get more info about the "show" and let you know in case anyone would like to go!  And THANK YOU for your help!!!  (And for those who don't know - Jonathan is our middle child, Matthew's father, and he is married to Tessie.)

It's almost time for our BACK TO SCHOOL - BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL & CHURCH push!!!  There will be "postcards" that each class and individuals can pick up THIS SUNDAY to be mailed THIS WEEK!!!  This theme will run for SIX WEEKS!!!  We begin on August 24th with BLESSING SUNDAY:  we will bless our own church school teachers, bless those who teach in the public & private schools, bless our new third graders with a new Bible, and BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS by inviting them to Sunday School AND CHURCH EACH AND EVERY SUNDAY FOR THE SIX WEEKS!!!  We'll also celebrate with an old-fashioned COVERED DISH LUNCH right after the morning service on the 24th, and again at the conclusion on September 28th!!!  Please PLAN on what YOUR CLASS and what YOU can do to make this a great time in the life of College Mound UMC!!!!  "GO FISH!!!"

We hope that history will repeat itself, of sorts, as we look to this Sunday evening's combined United Methodist worship at Seagoville!!!  The church van will leave from the church at 6:15pm if anyone would like a ride!!!  The service begins at 7:00pm and the Rev. Jeff Garrett will be our preacher for the evening!  Jeff is the newly appointed pastor at 1st UMC in Forney.  The choir from 1st UMC in Kaufman will honor us with the special music.  And again, the offerings will go to NEW CHURCH STARTS in the Dallas South District!!!  Come and be renewed, energized, and inspired!!!

This Sunday at College Mound UMC:

From Barbara, 8/14/08

Please accept my apology for not letting each of you know of my decision to "step down" from teaching the class.I have been mulling this over for quite some time, and I have talked to Larry about it. His advise has been that everyone needs some time off eventually. Otis has also advised me. Raymond Wheeler asked me to teach this class about 30 years ago, and I pray I have done what he asked and have not disappointed him. I have truly enjoyed the friends in the class, the discussions, and the support. I am just tired. Also, I want to go with Frank when he wants to go to Bronte on week-ends,or where ever, and Frank is supportive of my decision. He knows how I have agonized over it. There is no doubt that each of you will be able to find a class that you can enjoy--or start another class. We are blessed at College Mound to have a diverse group of teachers. Please, please search for a class. You know, Sunday School makes a difference!
Much love,
Barbara
Please let anyone else know that needs to know.

Eagle Project by Scout Michael Keller

Hello,
My name is Michael Keller and I'm with Boy Scout Troop 381 in Wills Point, Texas.  This year I will be a Senior at Wills Point High School and I am striving to get my Eagle Scout Rank.  But, before I do, I have to complete a community service project.
The project that I am doing will be getting people, shoe companies, churches, and local businesses to donate shoes or money to the Rural East Texas Community of Shalom, which will then be given to people in need of shoes in Van Zandt County.
My shoe drive is for the Rural East Texas Community of Shalom to benefit men, women, and children within Van Zandt County who don't have good shoes or any shoes at all.
This project will start August 1st with sending out letters to local businesses and shoe companies asking for donations and will last till September 1st.  Also, throughout the month, I will be going to churches in the area asking for contributions and support on the project.  I would also like to put a few advertisements in the local newspaper to let the Van Zandt Community know what I am doing and to let people know where they can drop off shoes.  Next, I will be going to the drop off places to pick up the shoes to bring them to RETCS by September 14th, so that Judi Yarbrough can distribute them to the families in need.
What I ask from you is any shoes or donations regardless of how big or small so that we can put shoes on the feet of people in our community and help them out in that way.  You would be making a big difference in many people's lives and be doing a good thing at the same time.  I appreciate you listening to me and what I have to say.
God Bless,
Michael Keller

From Keri, 8/6/08

Please add my best friends brother and his wife, Jeff and Crystal Vanciel, to the prayer list. She went in for her 6 month check-up and found that the baby did not have a heart beat. She is delivering the baby tonight and will have the funeral on Friday. The also have a 3 year old daughter and 7 year old son so this is a very diffucult time for everyone. The entire family definitely needs our prayers now.

thanks,

Keri

From Larry, 8/6/08

Bobbi Sue's surgery went well and she was able to go home the same day!  She's still sore, of coarse - but is doing well!  Continue to keep her in your prayers!

Kristi Guiou's mom also did well with her bypass surgery and she is recovering.  Please continue to remember them in your prayers!

I've been trying to track down Jacob and see about his solder shurgery (much easier to type than say out loud!) - but so far haven't been able to find out anything.  It was to be a day surgery, so I'm supposing her did well!  In any event, continue to keep Jacob in your thoughts and prayers!

Visitation with the Nesler family will be at the church in the sanctuary this Friday, Aug. 8th, from 6:00-8:00pm.  The Service of Celebration for Sue's life will be on Saturday at 2:00pm, also in our sanctuary.  Following the service we will have a meal in the fellowship hall.  Everyone who can bring food for the meal is encouraged to do so.  Continue to lift up Max and all of Sue's family in your prayers.

Don't forget that our UMW is having their PLANNING MEETING today at 11:30am at CiCi's Pizza in Terrell!!!  Come and join them as they plan for the rest of the fall and into next year!!!

The YOUTH DEPARTMENT is meeting tonight at 6:00pm at College Mound to go to LOCUST GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH for a special Bible Study they are having there!  It starts at 6:30pm - so don't be late!!!

The YOUTH also have Friday Night Lights this Friday from 7:00-10:00pm in the youth center.

And DON'T FORGET - YOUTH - WE ARE SINGING SUNDAY NIGHT for the 1st of the Kaufman County Combined United Methodist Worship Services - at POETRY!!!  We'll let you know what you should wear (my idea - ANY of our event t-shirts....to show how ACTIVE we are)!!!

Something new for worship this Sunday (and hopefully each Sunday thereafter) - a SERMON STUDY GUIDE for you to use!!!  This Sunday's topic is "Brotherly Love?" from Genesis 37:1-4, 12-28 - which is the first of two stories about Joseph.  After next weeks sermon, we'll be finished with the summer series from Genesis!!!

What's coming next???  A NEW SERMON SERIES:  BACK TO SCHOOL - BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL & CHURCH!!!  Beginning August 24th, I (WE ALL WILL) focus on our "Back to School" theme for SIX WEEKS (appropriate, huh?)!!!  During that time we will emphasize our Sunday School, as well as Back to Church theme!  Each Sunday School Class is encouraged to send out cards, make phone calls, and do whatever they can to have the best attendance AND GET NEW PEOPLE INTO THEIR CLASSES!!!  The first Sunday of this event, August 24th, will also be "BLESSING SUNDAY" - when we will "bless" our own Sunday School teachers and recognize them, "bless" those who are teaching in other settings, award new third graders with a Bible, and encourage EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS COLLEGE MOUND UMC TO "INVITE AND BRING A FRIEND" TO THE SERVICE THAT DAY!!!  We will also have a COVERED DISH LUNCH following the morning service!!!  We'll close the emphasis on September 28th, appropriately "Christian Education Sunday" with a 2nd "BRING A FRIEND - AGAIN" Sunday and covered dish luncheon.  The sermon topic for that last Sunday will be "Report Cards!" - after all, it is the end of the six weeks!!!  So let's gear up for BACK TO SCHOOL - BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL & CHURCH!!!!

From Pat, 7/28/08

Just heard from Janice Cook......she had to go into the hospital Friday evening. She was very weak and fainty. They gave her plenty of fluids and got her electrolytes (ms I think) back in order. She is now home and feeling like the old Janice she says. Said to "THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS".
Continue to remember her......she does have heart problems.
Thanks, Pat

News from Larry, 7/27/08

The big news is Vacation Bible School for ALL AGES every night from 5:30 - 8:30pm!!!  We begin with snack supper and a time of singing, then break up into our groups:  the children & youth doing "Egypt Expedition - Where Kids Dig Into God's Love" and the adults with Bob Watson studying "GO FISH!" (how to share your faith)!!!
VBS is always a great time to INVITE & BRING OTHERS with you and introduce them not only to College Mound UMC, but introduce them to the love of God through a personal savior.  We hope every will do everything they can to do just that!!!
Needless to say, we want to thank a great many people who have worked for many long hours to get this event ready to help us all in our journey of faith!!!  You are all truly WONDERFUL!!!
The HAMBURGER SUPPER for Sunday night is the only meal during the week that's just a little different!!!  We'll supply the hamburgers and the trimmin's, but after that it's COVERED DISH!!!  Just bring anything that you think will go well with hamburgers!!!  The other meals throughout the week will be supplied by different classes and groups!!!  And, again, THANK YOU, to all who are helping with the meals!!!

The next BIG THING that will be coming up is our KAUFMAN COUNTY WORSHIP on August 10th & 17th at 7:00pm.  The worship service on the 10th will be at Poetry UMC, and the 17th will be at 1st UMC in Seagoville.  This is always a great time of singing, preaching, and fellowship!!!  Let's make sure that will take this opportunity to worship with the rest (or at least a good many) of the "CONNECTION", as John Wesley would say!

It's coming:  August 24th!!!  BACK TO SCHOOL - BACK TO SUNDAY SCHOOL & CHURCH!!!  That will be our BRING A FRIEND SUNDAY as well as a time to honor parents, students, teachers, etc. AND give our new 3rd graders their Bibles!!!  Each Sunday School Class should make plans to invite and bring as many of their class that Sunday as possible!!!

There will be no youth or Friday Night Lights this week.  We'll resume on Wednesday, August 6th with our youth meeting at 7:00pm in the youth center, and August 8th, from 7:00 - 10:00pm in the youth center for Friday Night Lights.  See you then!!!

From Max, 7/25/08

All
This week Sue took a turn for the worse. Hospiss brought in there crisis crew and we have a nurse here 24 hours. Larry was out on Thursday and had a good visit. Our daughter Vicki came in and is visiting with Sue, Brandon is coming in this weekend. The nurses said Sue is not looking very well. Each of the kids have said it was OK to go see her Jesus. He will place her under his wing and she will have no more problems and no more suffering. She will be singing and giving praise to our Lord Jesus. Remmenber there is two things we have no control over and that is when we were born and when we Die. So we must live our life as if each moment will be our last. Please keep our family in your prayers. Please place Thomas our Lawyer friend on list.  He is going to give a kidney to his sister this next week.  He is afraid and I said we would be there for them.
We know that all things are possible through our Lord Jesus - all we need to do ask and then listen.
May God bless you all
Love Sue and Max

We had a great day at the Seminar yesterday in the new Ministry Center in Plano!  Seven went from College Mound!!!  We'll talk more about what we learned!!!

LaDonda Mosher had surgery yesterday at Baylor in Garland.  She's doing fine and will be there a while longer.

Amanda Stepp, Bettye Hall's granddaughter, was in the hospital recently.  She's still pretty sick, but is now home.  Continue to lift her up in your prayers.

Audra Hogan will have knee replacement surgery tomorrow, Friday.  Pray for a great surgery and an easy rehab!!!

Also continue to lift up Andrew Petrea and his parents, Misty & Michael, in your prayers.  They should have returned home from Disney Land as of yesterday.

And continue to remember Bob Hall in your prayers.  He's had a rough time with his breathing, as a lot of others have due to the hot weather.

I know it's been HOT outside - but now it's getting really HOT INSIDE!!!  The education building is now a desert - with pyramids, the sphynx, sand dunes, an oasis or two, and even the Nile river running through it!!!  Of course, this is all getting ready for next weeks VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - EGYPT EXPEDITION:  WHERE KID'S DIG INTO GOD'S WORD!!!  But don't worry - the adults will get to have their own fun with Bob Watson as we all "GO FISH"!!!
It all begins at 5:30pm each night:
 - Sunday is a HAMBURGER COOKOUT...the hamburger's & trimmin's are furnished - please bring ANYTHING you think goes well with a hamburger cookout!!!
- Monday is a HOT DOG COOKOUT provided by our youth department (everything is furnished)
- Tuesday will be a PIZZA NIGHT
- Wednesday will be a SANDWICH NIGHT
- Thursday (the last night) will be PIZZA AGAIN

I know we ask this all the time - but hear it again, with a sense of some urgency:
INVITE & BRING OTHERS!!!!
Please do invite and bring others with you to VBS (not to mention church school and worship)!!!

Also don't forget that this Sunday is also our next scheduled BLOOD DRIVE!!!  If you can and are able to give - please sign up to give the GIFT OF LIFE sometime between 10:00am and 2:00pm in the fellowship hall!!!

Ya'll take care,

Larry

Here’s more info about the benefit for Madison.  J  Hope you can all make it!

THANKS Malissa!

 Kathy & Susie,

Thank you both SO much for passing along the information about the fish fry benefit on Saturday. We'll take all the exposure we can get! I noticed however, that it wasn't mentioned that it was to be hosted at The Side Street Bar (I work there as a bartender), and am afraid people won't be able to find us! If you have time, please re-send to your email lists and let them all know it will be at Side Street, located at 106 S. Adelaide.

Also, we are selling raffle tickets for a "Split the Pot" donation for Madison. The winner will get half (I anticipate the winner will give their half to Madison too), and the other half will go to the family. Tickets are available at the bar - we open at 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will open at 4:00 p.m. this Saturday to prepare for the event. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. They're also available and are being sold at Jerry's Hair Designs (Jerry & Carolyn Gordon), and Don Archer has a few too.

Thanks again ladies! We appreciate it - we're trying to make this benefit a HUGE success and need all the assistance available to us.

We've had an unexpected but pleasant surprise connected to our South Central Jurisdictional Conference in Dallas this week!  Some of the delegates here from Missouri are a former pastoral family to College Mound - Jeff Spalding and his wife!

Many of you will remember them - and yet, for some of you, they are not familiar.  We can deal with both of those on Saturday, after the end of conference.

Jeff & his wife will come back to College Mound Saturday for a time of visitation with friends and strangers alike!  We also hope to gather somewhere for supper that night for those of you who'd like more time to visit with them.  So we're thinking maybe Napoli's at 6:00pm....

In any case, we'll let you know more via the email and a caller that will be sent out - also reminding you that this Sunday we'll have a guest preacher, Rev. Dan Benton from the Central Texas Conference, who will be with us for an ICE CREAM SUPPER ON SUNDAY AT 5:30PM.  Dan will be our speaker, song leader, special music for Sunday night's Vesper service.  Don't let me down - come IN FORCE WITH ICE CREAM (and other goodies) this Sunday night at 5:30pm!!!!

Martha Wilson's funeral will be on Monday at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Plano at 10:00am.  The family will come back to College Mound UMC for lunch (12:00-12:30pm) and then the graveside service at 2:00pm in the College Mound Cemetery.  This will be a large family (and friends), so we could use a lot of food brought in for this luncheon on Monday!!!  Chicken has been ordered, but we probably will need more than the usual amount of food for most of our funeral lunches!  If you can help, please do so!!!  And "thank you" for being so kind and generous!!!

The South Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church will begin this Wednesday in Dallas.  This is also the time when new bishops are elected and assigned to episcopal areas.  It is also the time when the North Texas Conference will be assigned a new bishop.  If you've never been - Saturday's service at 10:00am at 1st UMC in Dallas will be the consecration service for our newly elected bishops!!!  It might be the only time you could see this event this close to College Mound!!!  Needless to say, please keep the SCJ in your prayers throughout the coming week!!!

Our UMW will be going to the Wesley-Rankin Community Center this Wednesday, July 16th, with Vickie Reed driving them in the church van!  For more information, please give Cindy Radley a call!!!

The KAUFMAN COUNTY WORSHIP DAYS are coming closer!!!  They will take place on August 10th & 17th at 7:00pm.  Our first worship will be at POETRY UMC, which is really close by, so we need to have a GREAT TURNOUT FROM COLLEGE MOUND UMC!!!  The plan is for Rev. Kathleen Bakin-Baugh to be our guest preacher (and she is, in a word, GREAT)!!!  Larry will be leading the singing and special music will be from 1st UMC, Terrell, and the COLLEGE MOUND YOUTH!!!  Of course, after all that singing and preaching, THERE WILL BE REFRESHMENTS AFTER!!!  Our 2nd service will be Aug. 17th at 1st UMC in  Seagoville.  The Rev. Jeff Garrett, newly appointed pastor to 1st UMC, Forney, will be our guest preacher there!!!  I believe Kaufman and Mabank will be providing our special music for that night!!!  DON'T MISS 'EM!!!

I you are interested in going to an ALL DAY TRAINING at the NEW MINISTRY CENTER in Plano on Wednesday, July 23rd, I need to no NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, JULY 16TH!!!  The session begins at 9:00am and will last until 3:00pm.  It will be taught (led) by Rev. Jim Ozier, who is our new church development director for the North Texas Conference!  This CHURCH EFFECTIVENESS SEMINAR has received GREAT REVIEWS by everyone who has participated!!!  Cost is $10.00 (and you are own your own for lunch).  We'll take the church van if there are enough interest.

We'll have a very special GUEST PREACHER on Sunday EVENING, JULY 20TH, the Rev. Dan Benton.  Dan and I grew up in Irving together, went to Irving High School, and were part of the same church youth group at Kirkwood UMC in Irving.  We also sang together as part of "the Remnant", led youth revivals, and even shared housing during our college years at Texas Wesleyan.  One of Dan's dreams was to learn to fly - which he did!  Now he is learning how to fly a helicopter!  He will be coming to talk with us about how flying relates to the verse from Isaiah, "On the Wings of Eagles"!!!  Please invite and bring someone to come with you as we welcome Dan to our church for the evening service!!!

Beverly and I (and Dena) would like to invite everyone to OPEN HOUSE AT THE PARSONAGE on Monday, August 18th.  There has been some really dramatic changes made at the parsonage, and we'd like to invite you all to come and see them!!!  It's also our 35th wedding anniversary, and we'd like to invite you all to come and celebrate that WITH US (no gifts, please).  And since we postponed our Christmas open house, we'd like to do it as part of our anniversary!!!  Everything will be supplied - come and go and just enjoy!!!  Time:  6:00 - 8:30pm!!!

Can you send out a prayer request for everything to turn out ok. The hose that tells the washer to quit filling came undone and I was outside at the time and it flooded the house.  Insurance Company sent people out last night that are tearing up vinyl and carpet so they can dry the floor before any mold can set in.  Hopefully they can get everything dried out before Dakota comes home since this will definitely affect his asthma.

“GO FISH”

ALL YOU ADULTS (and the people you INVITE) JOIN US FOR VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL JULY 27th through 31st

We’ve all heard them. “It was this big.” “You should have seen the one that got away.” People love to tell stories of their fishing adventures. When it comes to faith, most people clam up. Why is it we can’t talk about what God has done in our lives as naturally as we can spin fishing tales?

Join us for VBS as we explore the motivation behind sharing your faith. Discover God’s heart for those who don’t know Him and the role we can play in introducing others to Him. Along the way you will be equipped with tools that will help you make sharing your faith a natural part of your life.  Remember. . .we are all called to “GO FISH!”  It really isn’t an option!!!

The topics we will be discussing are:

  • We Were All Fish Once
  • Why Fish?
  • Fish Guts
  • Fishing Buddies
  • Muddy Water
  • The One That Got Away

GUARANTEED to inspire and enrich your Christian lives.

Remember:  VBS, July 27th – 31st!
Snack Supper each evening at 5:30pm
Adults meet in the sanctuary with Bob!

From Larry, 7/10/08

Services for Martha Wilson will be on Monday morning at 10:00am at the Ted Dickie Funeral Home, West in Plano, Texas.  Their phone number is 972-407-6070.  I will be doing the service there and then we will all (about sixty in the family we are told) come back to College Mound for lunch at noon.  The burial will be in the College Mound Cemetery at 2:00pm.

Mrs. Wilson is a "Wheeler" and a lot of you don't remember the Wheeler's - but need-less-to-say, they are a very long-time associated family with College Mound.  I believe she passed away as a result of ALS or Lou Gherig's Disease.  "Old-time" (not to call you all "old") members of College Mound will remember these family well.  There's just not that many left who do.

Barbara has (or the family has been with her) been in contact with the family and is also helping to coordinate things (thanks, Barbara).  If others can help out with the lunch on Monday, or would like to be a part of the committal service at 2:00pm - please feel free do to so!

Haven't heard a report from Liz Sneed - think she was supposed to go back for another test soon (let me know if anyone does know).

Also heard that Audra Hogan was going to have knee replacement surgery soon.  If you know that date - let us know as well!

Ya'll Take Care,

Larry
