Children's Ministries

At College Mound, we believe in nurturing the faith of children through meaningful relationships, hands-on learning, and joyful experiences. From weekly Sunday School to seasonal events, our programs are designed to help children grow in faith and discover the love of God in community.

• Description: Children ages 3 years through 5th grade engage in fun-filled activities as they grow in faith using the Big Faith curriculum. Thematic units follow the seasons of the church year:
  
  • Fall: Faith in God – Understanding the character of God
  • Winter: Faith in Community – Developing faith within a loving community (includes Advent & Christmas)
  • Spring: Faith in Jesus – Learning from the stories of Jesus (includes Lent & Easter)
  • Summer: Faith in Action – Living out faith in everyday life

• Description: An 8-week fall course offered every other year for students in 3rd–5th grades. Children gain confidence navigating the Bible, learning how to use it for personal faith growth and preparing for deeper study.
• Meeting Day / Time: Provided prior to sign-up

• Description: Offered every other spring for students in 5th–8th grades. This 8-week course introduces biblical genres, historical context, and use of study tools such as commentaries and maps. It is a stepping stone to the Confirmation class.

• Description: A family-friendly evening filled with games, contests, and fellowship. Events include a chili and ice cream contest, costume awards (non-scary), a dessert walk, and Trunk-or-Treat.

• Description: Our children share the story of Christmas through a joyful performance, often written by our talented volunteers. The evening includes snacks and desserts for all.
• Meeting Day / Time: Sunday in Advent (December 21, 2025), 5:00–7:00 p.m.
• Location: Fellowship Hall

• Description: A summer week of faith, fun, and food! Children learn about Jesus through story, crafts, games, and worship. Each evening begins with a shared meal, and a parallel adult study is offered.
• Meeting Day / Time: One week each summer (Sunday–Thursday), 5:00–8:00 p.m.
